Intro to Trados/SDLX

Time: 9:30AM until 12:30 pm 

Trados

-       setting up the translation environment (Workbench, MultiTerm, TagEditor)

-       interactive translation in TagEditor

-       creation of the target language file

SDLX

-       creating a translation project

-       interactive translation in SDLX

-       export of the target language file

 

Intermediate Trados

Time: 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm 

-       how to prepare/translate different file formats in Trados TagEditor

o    MS Office (Word, PPT, Excel)

o    XML

-       Checking formalities like tags, numbers, punctuation with TagEditor QA Checker

-       Creating a terminology database with MultiTerm and saving terms from TagEditor

Advanced Trados

About the Presenter:

Angelika Zerfass is based in Bonn, Germany. She holds a degree in translation from the Department of Oriental Languages at the University of Bonn, Germany, in Chinese and Japanese Language and Computational Linguistics. She wrote her thesis on machine translation in China. From 1997 to 2000, she was a TRADOS Training and Support Specialist for Microsoft localization projects, in Tokyo, Japan and Seattle, USA and has been offering translation tools training worldwide since.
She’ll be presenting at the Localization World conference in October and then offering Trados trainings in Seattle immediately following our event (on Oct. 21 and 22) through the Localization Institute.
